MetaMind

The Physics of Imagination

Twelve days exploring imagination not as a soft skill, but as a real, observable, trainable force — moving from personal intuition through scientific thinking to shared creation. How do ideas take shape? How does the mind work? And what does it mean to think creatively in a world shaped by algorithms?

About this shift

Twelve days, one question: how do ideas take shape?

Each day began with two group sessions built around a core theme, followed by afternoon Studios & Labs and evening open activities — guided by clear thematic questions and enriched by workshops, sport and structured free time.

All Studios & Labs followed a project-based format. Campers worked in focused teams, developing ideas step by step with the guidance of mentors. Each studio culminated in a tangible outcome — a prototype, performance, installation, design proposal or built project — shared at the Open House.

Afternoons also included structured Free Time Options: sports games, outdoor activities, creative workshops, music sessions and science-based explorations — time to reset, pursue individual interests and connect informally with peers.

For campers in the boarding programme, each day continued with a curated Evening Programme on campus or outdoors — team challenges, creative gatherings, discussions, games, film screenings or relaxed social time. Quiet time began at 22:30.

Studio picks

Five studios, one shift

Alongside the shared daily sessions, every camper picked one studio and went deep in it for the whole shift — building real skills with real instructors, working towards the Open House. A behind-the-scenes look:

Five studios ran across MetaMind:

🎛️

VJing & Animation

Campers built their own visual language — hand-drawn frames scanned and mixed live, loops synced to music and projected big, blending animation with live visual performance.

🗿

Sculpture & Photo

Working with clay, wire and found materials, campers shaped physical objects — then lit and photographed them like real subjects. Making an idea something you can hold, and something you can frame.

💃

Dance

No auditions, no cuts: campers built choreography together from scratch, turning the shift's big questions into movement, and performed it live at the Open House.

🔬

Science

Real hands-on experiments, not demonstrations — campers ran labs testing how thinking, perception and algorithms actually work, turning MetaMind's big questions into things they could measure and see.

🕵️

True or False Studio

A media-literacy studio for an age of algorithms: campers investigated how images, videos and claims get made — and faked — then built their own examples to test each other on real vs. generated.
